International Women’s Day 2020 Event

Southall Black Sisters and Southall Community Alliance are partnering for an event to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The event will be held at Southall Town Hall between 10 am and 1 pm on Monday, 9th March 2020.

The event will feature members of the SBS support group reading from their book of short stories “Turning The Page” which was written especially for SBS’s 40th anniversary year and edited by Rahila Gupta, as well as, poetry from the founder and director of Poetry Prescribed, Miss Yankey.

There will also be a talk from SBS’s Meena Patel on how immigration law and policy impacts on women’s lives, while survivors will be talking about the impact of the No Recourse to Public Funds rule in immigration law.

Refreshments will be available, and you will have the chance to buy the book at a specially discounted price of £5.00.
