Due to an unprecedented volume of referrals, we regret that we are unable to accept any new referrals between Wednesday 1st December 2021 and Wednesday 5th January 2022. We will continue to prioritise urgent cases and will take high-risk referrals only if a CAADA-DASH risk assessment has been undertaken and is attached with the referral. We will also continue to accept MARAC referrals. Our No Recourse Fund remains open for applications and referrals. Our Helpline (020 8571 9595) remains open between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday – Friday until Friday 17th December, when SBS will close for the holidays until Wednesday 5th January 2022.

You can reach the 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247. If you are in immediate danger, dial 999.

SOUTHALL BLACK SISTERS

SUPPORT OUR VITAL WORK

Any amount that you can donate will make a difference

Southall Black Sisters is a leading organisation for black and minority women and girls in the UK. We are committed to the principles of equality and justice for all, but especially abused black and minority women who are one of the most marginalised groups in our society. Donations are essential for us to be able to support women, especially those with No Recourse to Public Funds.

At SBS, we strive to provide a safe environment for women trapped in abusive relationships or at risk of violence and abuse. Our aim is to enable women to take decisions over their lives without fear and repercussions.

We urgently need your help to continue our important life saving and pioneering work.

We very much welcome donations to help us support migrant women who are subject to gender-based violence and immigration restrictions such as the No Recourse to Public funds (NRPF) requirement. Your donations will help us provide much-needed emergency accommodation, food and other subsistence support. For more information about the impact of NRPF on women and how your donation makes a difference, click here.

Donate to Dorothy's funeral costs

If you can support Dorothy’s friends in the UK with funeral costs, please donate using the different options available on this page, and please mention “Dorothy” when submitting your donation.

A huge thank you to everyone who has reached out with messages of support regarding Dorothy and for asking how you can help. Currently we are supporting Dorothy’s friends in the UK to raise funds for her funeral costs.

Dorothy had no family in the UK. She was destitute because she was subject to the No Recourse to Public Funds. Please help us to raise funds to cover the cost of her funeral. We need to raise 6k by 25th March 2021 in order to be able to afford the funeral service. We are determined to raise this amount and to give back her humanity and dignity so cruelly robbed off her by the government’s hostile immigration system.
